Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 - Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a quiet town situated in the West Island, which is part of Montreal's island. The West Island has a lot of diverse communities. People who have never known about it may mistake it for a separate island facing west. Many times, it is credited as the birthplace of Amanda Brugel but while that is true, her stay in the city was brief. Brugel lived in Courtice, just outside of Oshawa. In her early years she wanted to be the next big thing in her career, but a sudden increase in her height made it difficult. An article in the Toronto Star article revealed she's 6ft 1in tall in heels. Once I outgrew male partners and gave up, I decided to give up. Brugel was one of many former dancers who shifted into acting. Her teacher from high school was what pushed her into the right direction. She was encouraged to audition for a part in her school's production. After trying out the role, she was chosen as the main character in Anne of Green Gables. It was the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she studied Theatre and received an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts in 2000. Since then, she's appeared in over 60 productions both big and small. One of the most memorable was the time she was cast as Rita in The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian cast member during the season 1 of the show and was not seen much.
