Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shakar is the American and British sitar artist. She was the first person of her generation to receive the British House of Commons Staff. Anoushka Shakar is a promising young emerging superstar on the Indian Sitar is Anoushka. She is the student of Ravi Shankar, and the daughter. She was born in London in 1982 and was a young girl who travelled back and forth to London in London and New Delhi. When she was 13, she gave her debut performance in New Delhi. She then moved into Encinitas CA, where she earned the High School diploma with honors in 1999. Anouskha is still pursuing a successful career in recording and performing despite being young. She has been performing with her father in the stage for a long time. The first album she released as a solo artist, Anourag, was released in 1998. Her Grammy-nominated Live At Carnegie Hall album was released in 2002. The stage is a very significant part of her work. She has performed in a variety of major venues all over the globe. Anoushka Shankar's work isn't limited to performing in music. Bapi the The Love of My Live, a biographical picture written in tribute to her father Ravi Shankar was published in 2002. She has also acted in a number of films. In 2003, she was in the movie Dance Like a Man where she is an aspiring Bharat Natyam performer. Anoushka Shankar's professional career is continuing to develop and we can expect to see many things from her in years to be. Anoushka Shankar was born in England and spent much of her childhood in London and Delhi later relocating to California in the state where she attended the high school. At the age of 9, she started studying music with her father. The first time she performed on the sitar came in her 75th birthday celebration in Delhi just four years later. The father of Anoushka travelled across the world with her and she also gained a variety of experience. As she was in her teens, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall during Peter Gabriel's WOMAD Music Festival. In recognition of being a leading musician of Asian Arts, she was awarded the House of Commons Shield by British Parliament.
